Cencore History
Cencore originated as .The Caemlyn Group, Inc. founded in 1995. The Caemlyn Group focused on servicing computer networks from the user workstation to the servers in a Network Operations Center or Server Room. As ownership and marketing goals changed, The Caemlyn Group reincorporated as .Central Core Software, Inc. d.b.a. Cencore in 2001.
While maintaining their existing customers, Cencore changed primary focus to custom software programming, establishing new customers from small businesses to a Fortune 500 company. As the U.S. model for programmers shifted from the U.S. to India, Cencore re-established their customer base in network setup and administration with a focus on security and disaster recovery.
Throughout the company’s changes, Jim McCormick has remained the company president and largest shareholder. With a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Computer Information Systems, Jim has coupled a great deal of business understanding with network experience from Unix and the first versions of Microsoft Windows and Windows NT. He realized that many companies had either an inexperienced network staff or were hiring equally inexperienced and uncaring consultants with little or no business training.
Cencore has a proven track record with its clients by saving them time and money through business understanding and network expertise.
In looking to the future, Cencore hopes to not only keep their current customers in the tri-county area, but to expand their services into all of Florida. We’re currently setting up technology for virtual offices so that clients can connect to their server from anywhere with Internet access and access their daily workstation desktop. The actual server is stored in our hardened facility in Fort Lauderdale and a continuous copy is maintained in our backup facility in Illinois.
Cencore’s biggest advantage over their competition is getting to understand their customer’s business model first. This is of paramount importance because if you can’t understand how a customer does business, how can you help design or administrate a computer network that can help them achieve their business goals?
